Empowering Kids and Raising Awareness
Today, on World Cerebral Palsy Day, we celebrate the resilience, strength, and uniqueness of individuals living with Cerebral Palsy (CP). At Kid PT, we believe that every child has the potential to thrive with the right support and resources. Cerebral Palsy is a lifelong condition that can affect movement, posture, and muscle coordination. But just as every child is unique, so too is every journey with CP.
This year, we’re focused on raising awareness, supporting families, and sharing tools to empower parents and caregivers. Whether you’re a parent of a child with CP, a healthcare provider, or someone who wants to know more about this condition, this day is an opportunity to build a more inclusive world.
What is Cerebral Palsy?
Cerebral Palsy is a group of disorders that affect movement and muscle tone, often caused by damage to the brain before or during birth, or in the early years of life. CP can range in severity, affecting individuals differently. Some children may have difficulty walking or controlling movement, while others may experience challenges in speech or motor coordination.
The most important thing to remember? Children with CP have incredible potential. With the right therapies and support, they can achieve milestones, improve mobility, and enjoy fulfilling lives.

How Total Motion Release (TMR) Can Help Kids with CP
One approach we’re excited to offer here at Kid PT is Total Motion Release (TMR). This method empowers kids by using simple movements to restore muscle balance and improve flexibility. We’ve seen remarkable results in children with CP who have been able to increase their range of motion and reduce discomfort through TMR.
In honor of World CP Day, we are offering a FREE TMR training session for parents! For the next 30 days, you can book a session in person or via zoom to learn these techniques and apply them at home. Don’t miss this opportunity to support your child’s journey to more freedom of movement- Email us at info@kidpt.com to make an appointment before this offer is gone.
Want to learn more about TMR? Read our detailed blog post on the benefits of TMR for kids with CP HERE.
Celebrating the Uniqueness of Every Child
This year’s theme, Uniquely CP, highlights the diversity within the CP community. No two experiences are the same, and it’s this individuality that makes each story so powerful. We encourage you to share your family’s journey or your own experience with CP. By raising our voices and sharing our stories, we can build a more inclusive and supportive world for individuals with Cerebral Palsy.
Have a story to share? Tag us on social media with the hashtag #UniquelyCP and let the world know what makes your CP journey unique.
